Machine learning for heliophysics
The EC Horizon 2020 AIDA project organizes a school on machine learning for heliophysics. During the school the new instruments developed during the AIDA project will be shown: AIDApy and AIDAdb. These tools are open source software and were designed to simplify the use of machine learning in any heliophysics application. The school is sponsored by PRACE.

EUHUBS4DATA: 2nd open call
The EC funded EUHubs4Data opens the second call for innovatove product and services. SMEs (including start-ups) and groups of web entrepreneurs are invited to propose experiments that make use of the EUHubsData federated catalgogue of data-driven services and datasets for the development of innovative products or advanced services. Deadline: February 1st, 2022 (17:00 CET).

The HPCwire Award "Best Use of HPC in Energy" goes to Prace, BSC and Cineca
The project "JOREK; Non-Linear MHD simulations of tokamak plasmas for validation and implications for JT-60SA and ITER", a multinational collaboration of 50 researches from 20 institutes that used Barcelona Supercomputing Center's and CINECA's supercomputers, has been recognised in the annual HPCwire Readers' and Editors' Choice Awards, with the honour Readers' Choice: Best Use of HPC in #Energy.

Urgent computing for the World Tsunami Awareness Day
The destructive event, occurred almost one year ago, will be replied: the 2020 Mw 7 Samos earthquake.
The exercise is promoted by the ChEESE Project to show the potentiality of HPC for Probabilistic Hazard Forecasting, and in particular of Urgent Computing for Rapid Post Event Assessment.
The Urgent Computing will be performed live by INGV researchers on the CINECA Marconi100 supercomputer.

EXAHEALTH 2021
On Monday, 18 October, CERN openlab and Chelonia Applied Science will host a first-of-its-kind workshop called ExaHealth 2021. The half-day virtual event will begin at 1.00 p.m. CEST and will examine the potential for exascale computing and machine learning to support efforts to improve public health.
The workshop is free and open to all.

HPC-Europa3: new closing date
The HPC-Europa3 programme is accepting applications with the next closing date on Thursday 9th Sept 2021 (23:59 CEST).
We plan to inform applicants of the results before by the end of October, with visits starting from early December or early in 2022.
The programme will close in April 2022 and there will be just another call in November 2021.
